“Ambassador Greer and the Trump administration have placed American workers and manufacturers at the center of our nation’s trade strategy. Their focus on rebuilding domestic production, strengthening supply chains, and bringing jobs back home is critical to America’s long‑term economic strength.
“At the same time, the current tariff framework is creating unintended consequences for the workers and industries that these policies are meant to protect. Tariffs now calculated on the full value of working vehicles, like ATVs and UTVs, are driving up costs for farmers, energy producers, emergency responders, and local governments that depend on this equipment to do their jobs. These vehicles are not luxury goods, they are the backbone of daily operations in the field, on sites, and on the front lines. Higher prices are squeezing budgets, straining rural communities, and making it harder to maintain the fleets needed to keep America strong.
“Ambassador Greer’s testimony underscored the importance of a resilient trade strategy, and now is the time to make sure it works for every American worker. We urge the administration to pursue targeted tariff relief for essential working vehicles and the parts that keep them running. Thisremedy would lower costs for producers and responders, support American jobs, and ensure our trade policy truly strengthens the industries that keep our country safe, fed, and powered.”
